Sharing our first holiday as a married couple meant that this year we got to send our own family holiday card! When it came time to select our card and vendor, after much research, we decided to go with Minted! I have heard raving reviews from my friends on their quality and customer service so I had to check it out for myself. Excited to share my experience and top three reasons why to choose Minted for all your future stationary needs.
I have always had a love of paper products and goodies and I absolutely cannot walk by a paper store without stopping in. Paper Source is my happy place! I love to send letters to friends and family any chance I can, the happiness of getting snail mail will never be replaced. Choosing our holiday card was not only fun but a process that I was excited for and could not wait to get in the mail once I selected the final product. Starting out on Minted.com I loved how easy the site was to manage, they really give you everything at your finger tips, in an easy to use layout making the design process from start to finish seamless and very user friendly. Getting started, I first imported my photo and was happy to see that I could view my photo in any or all designs. Once I made a final choice, I got to personalize the back of the card with different photo or message layouts and backgrounds, next was designing the recipient address layout and finally the envelope color and liner options.
Outside of the easy setup and selection process, here are my top three reasons why to choose Minted and what makes this company unique:
One Purchase and still have time to edit your designs before sending to print
Minted was running an early access holiday promotion in early November and with all of the amazing card designs to choose from (they have tons), plus time and effort to complete our mailing list and addresses, I was worried I would not be able to finalize my order before it ended. This is when I learned about the Minted proof process, this allows you to purchase your card and still leave time to make changes or alter your order before going to print. I could still leverage the discount code and give myself more time to finalize my order and address list. I also realized I had not ordered enough, so I was able to add ten additional cards to my order at the same discounted rate.
Two Free recipient addressing
Free recipient address design with all orders! Minted has recipient address designs to match your card choice which was icing on the cake for me (see below). It made sending holiday cards so much easier than having to hand write and I thought the quality of printing and the envelope still gave that polished classic look I was going for. If you do decide to go with this free option, Minted adds their logo in the back right hand corner on the flap. This did not bother me but for some it might. Note: return addressing is an additional cost, so I opted to take care of that myself with a personalized stamp we had designed for our wedding.
Three Card stock and envelope quality
Our cards this year were printed on the signature paper, has a cotton feel and are good thickness. The color quality was top notch and I was very happy with the basic paper selection that Minted has, without needing to upgrade. For envelopes, I kept classic white but there were colored options to match the design for an additional cost which I appreciated being able to make different selections based on our needs.

Another reason to love Minted? They recently released an amazing new option to text in your photo for holiday card design support. It’s super easy, all you need to do is text your favorite photo to 415-301-CARD, answer a few questions and a Minted stylist will select their top five card designs they think are best fitted for your photo. Once you choose, log into Minted and your card will be ready for you to check out. I think it is great that Minted implemented new strategies to help simplify the card design process and give everyone one less to-do item on their list during the holidays.
