Friday Favorites – Give Back

1. Today’s Friday Favorites is about giving back. Many of us during this time are wondering what we can do to support each other and give back to those in need. Our family is trying to support the small businesses we love to make sure that we can all get through this time together. And we will! I know right now, today, may feel a little scary and unknown but by looking at the positives and staying strong I know we can all make it through these times.

I challenge you to share your top three things you are grateful for right now in the comments below. Let’s lift each other up and find the good! Read more to see mine.

Some positives I have been focusing on are 1. more time at home, a safe place we have designed and created for our family. 2. more dedicated time with Mark and Millie. 3. a slower pace of life, not constantly being on the go. I’m definitely an over planner, typically with a fully packed calendar, so this has been quite the change of pace. But I am loving it and soaking it all in.

Small Business Love

2. Sharing a mini highlight on some of my favorite small businesses, some of which are shared in the featured photo! I want to continue to share more on this topic each week as it’s something that I hold dear to my heart to support these businesses now more than ever.

Elizabeth + Faith – you guys have seen me talk about this company a few times but that’s how much I LOVE it! I got Millie the cute Girl Pack sweatshirt featured above for her Easter basket and I couldn’t help myself with ordering a matching one for me too! It’s the prettiest shade of pink. If you want to support this super cute small business, she is offering 20% off on all orders through this weekend with code ‘sunny’.

The Dreaming Daisy – I have not yet ordered from this cute small shop but I plan on placing an order of this adorable hello, honey shirt this weekend. Is this not perfect for Millie? Has her name ALL over it!

Native Poppy – This San Diego flower shop is a total dream!!! If you live local to San Diego and would like to support this small business they are currently taking orders for local delivery only. Their beautiful flower wraps and arrangements will make your day and are just what your home needs right about now! You can also support by shopping their adorable online shop full of candles, soaps, dried flowers and many more fun goodies to bring pretty mail to your doorstep. They would make for such great gifts!

Lou Lou and Company – this small business is founded by a NICU nurse of 5 years, who was constantly swaddling babies. She knew she wanted something different than the cookie-cutter baby blankets so she created this company with the best materials around after years of research. These were hands down my FAVORITE swaddles for Millie when she was a newborn. We got a few of the newborn essential bundles and can’t say enough amazing things. This is what Millie wore in the hospital. I’m obsessed with the pretty knotted gown, and the bow for the set is featured in the photo above. Every mom needs to add one to two of these to their registries, you can’t go wrong. They also started making these adorable top + bottoms, and I can’t wait to get a set for Millie.

Companies that Give Back

3. Continuing with a few other ways we can give back and support others in need!

The Little Market – a nonprofit and they share their mission as being dedicated to the economic self-sufficiency of women worldwide through dignified income opportunities. Anchored in the fundamental belief that every person has the right to safe jobs and fair, livable wages. Each piece is made following fair trade principles, contributing to a life-changing sustainable income and giving back to those who make it.

In the photo above you can see our cute The Little Market finger puppets displayed! They come in four different set options. Each set includes five hand-knit animals made with organic cotton. The best part is that each purchase empowers artisans at Kenana Knitters in Kenya! I shared more on this here.

This company has SO many great products that they offer. I also am in love with their entire home line and cute baskets. If you’re ever looking for a perfect gift they are another good go-to.

Cuddle + Kind – the cute doll in the photo collage I shared is from Cuddle + Kind! The creators are a family of five on a mission to help feed children in need. They created cuddle+kind because they wanted to make beautiful hand-knit dolls that help feed children. So for every cuddle+kind doll sold, they give 10 meals to children in need.

In addition, they are currently having a site-wide sale with 15% off everything with code Easter15. This would be another great addition to your little ones Easter basket or they make great gifts!

Kitchen Goals

4. One of my favorite home designers and owner of McGee & Co., is Shea McGee from Studio McGee! I’m obsessed with her cute online shop and everything she designs. It would be a huge dream of mine to work with her one day on a home! If you missed it this week she shared a photo tour and webisode of her stunning new kitchen. They have a newly custom built home and it is EVERYTHING!

I will share more on what I have bought and love from McGee & Co. on the blog soon!

Baby Toy Highlight – Ten-Month-Old

5. Millie got this sit-to-stand toy as a Christmas gift and she loves it! The activity center on front pops off for your little to play with on the ground until they are ready to stand up and play, or walk. Millie’s getting more interested in walking and taking steps so we have loved having this toy around to help her out! I also feel like I can see into her future that she’s going to be a big chit-chat girl, she loves talking on the pink phone. It’s so cute! This toy also has a latch on the back wheels to keep it in place if not walking with it. Highly recommend for everyone with a baby under one!

Hope you enjoyed this week’s Friday Favorites – Give Back! I want to continue to share more on how we can support small businesses during this time and give back. If you have any ideas please share in the comments, I would love to hear from you! We are all in this together.
